Ralph and Karen here for the Weekend

Saturday
We met up at Bicester Shopping Village and after a coffee and a slice of cake, Ralph and I headed back in his van whilst the girls did the hard work and carried on shopping!

The van was needed because R and K are getting rid of a lot of garden furniture and because it's the same design as ours, it was an opportunity to good to turn down.

Back by 12, and after storing the garden furniture, we got on with sorting out Ralph's new lap-top and installing some Serif software. We then faffed around trying to get various digital movies to play on the Blu-ray DVD player – with mixed results.

DVD_BR_international After lunch of various cheeses, grapes and biscuits, we settled down to watch the DVD: The International, on Blu-ray, starring Clive Owen and Naomi Watts  which we'd seen before but R and K hadn't. There's a good video clip on IMDB HERE.

Then we started to watch a digital version of A Streetcar Named Desire. It was interesting comparing the film version with the Play we saw last night in Stratford. We all caught up with the newspapers and slobbed around.

Wheatsheaf 6.30, and time to get ready for our third visit (and R and K's first) to The Wheatsheaf at Titchmarsh. On arriving just before 7.30, it was pretty quiet, but just like last time, it soon filled up. The food didn't disappoint! I had the haddock risotto followed by pan-fried chicken finishing off w2ith the chocolate cheesecake. We spent most of the time talking about our Christmas holiday in Barbados – and whether BA would be on strike!!

We got home around 10 and were all very tired. Ann and Karen went to bed straightaway whilst Ralph being manly,  and I stayed up until 10.15!

Sunday

I got up first (what a surprise) about 7 and Ann followed around 8.

We all sat down to a humungous 'full-English' and talked of our plans for Barbados at Christmas – specifically, car-hire, outstanding holiday bills and injections! sorting, sorted and sorted -in that order!

11.15 R and K left, heading home.

It's been a great weekend and we've got lots of things sorted.
