Ann got some disappointing news today.
The merchandising job she'd applied didn't even get her a first interview. The senior manager vacancy got her to first-base (of three) - a case-study exercise, but she got the thanks-but-no-thanks letter today.
Personally, I thought the rejection letter was dreadful, straight out of the file marked 'standard letters to send to unsuccessful candidates'. The wording was such that it could have been referring to any rejected candidate.
But hey, maybe I'm just angry on Ann's behalf!
This is a major blow, especially given that Ann was approached directly by the outgoing senior manager to apply for the position in the first place!
<cynical mode>Maybe she was just asked to apply, in order to make-up the numbers!</cynical mode>
