I used the Laptop today at a client's workshop - all was fine. By the time I got home and began to empty my bag, I noticed everything was a little damp and that included the laptop!
Anyway, all seemed to be OK and then the hard disk started to make a clicking sound. The screen then dropped out to a blank one with the message 'cannot find bootable media'.
OK that's serious! Repeated reboots reslulted in the laptop working only about 1 in 10 times.
So, it was a call to Dell and they've concluded that the hard disk has failed and they're going to send me a new one with the DVD for Windows Vista Business - it looks like I'll have a busy weekend ahead re-installing everything. :((
TIP: "Don't put your drinking bottle in the same bag as your laptop!"
