Yes, it’s almost that time of year again, and those that know me, know that since 2010, I’ve been using the Lent period to deny myself all the food and drink that I enjoy. I try to add a few items each year to make the experience even tougher, but it’s getting to the stage where there’s not much left to add… well, ‘maybe’!
I don’t do this for any particular religious reason, but more for an opportunity to lose a bit of weight and test my will-power. The 26 items on the list for 2014 are the food and drink that I love, so it’ll be interesting to see if I can get through the period until April 17th.
Last year was really tough (even with fewer items), and, for the first time since I started to take it seriously in 2010, I nearly succumbed.
If we run into each other, try to steer me away from temptation!
