Honeymoon Day 13: 28th December (Wednesday) – Exploring around Sydney Harbour

Today was the day for wearing out shoe leather – we must have walked miles!

After breakfast, we took the short walk to The Rocks tour office. This was an organised walking tour for around two-hours around the OLD parts of Sydney. Our tour-guide Sally, knew her stuff and we were shown the origins of Sydney and Australia itself – fantastic stuff!

We then had a short pit-stop in the Lord Nelson pub before heading off to Sydney Observatory.

We then found a street cafe for lunch and then off to Sydney Opera House to pick up our tickets for the New Year’s Eve Event and then went on for a walk around the Botanic Gardens.

The next time we looked at the time, it was approaching 4.30, so just time for a short ‘feet-up’ before we head off into town to look for somewhere to eat.

We decided to seek out a Thai restaurant and based on a recommendation from our butler (as one does!) we headed for Darling Harbour and a restaurant imaginatively titled I Thai. The food turned out to be superb!

After eating, we took a stroll along the rest of Darling Harbour and headed for the iMax cinema. We were hoping that the new Mission Impossible film was showing there. It was, so we booked tickets for tomorrow night at 8.15. This iMax has the world’s biggest screen, so it’ll be interesting to see what a feature-film looks like on it!

We got back around 10.30. Just time to think about tomorrow’s activities. I think we’ll do Sydney Zoo

Nighty-night all!
