Boxing Day 2010: Darth Vader 13 - Me, 0

It’s very cold outside – another severe frost here registering –6C on the thermometer. We’re going to make the trip ‘dahn sarff’ to visit Ann’s brother and his family. We set off around 10.30 and as Mum wasn’t feeling too well during the journey, we took a little longer to get there, arriving just after midday.

Roger and Jane had laid on a fantastic cold buffet, and we all got stuck in, (apart from Mum, who ate sparingly!). Nephew, Oliver, had acquired another light-sabre AND a Darth Vader outfit for Christmas, so that only meant one thing for this afternoon - he and I re-enacted most of the fight scenes from ALL the Star Wars movies! Phew!!! Not only was I shattered afterwards, I was rubbish!!! New year’s resolution: ‘must brush up on my light-sabre skills’.

We left around 5 and had a faster journey home than going, as there was hardly anything on the road and Mum was feeling a lot better.

18.15: It’s another evening surviving on Christmas left-overs and watching the box! Perfect!!!
