Tonight was the first opportunity to take the car for a long run.
I picked Ann up from the station at around 7pm and then we headed straight for L and B's. It's normally two-and-a-half hour run. We immediately ran into problems when we joined the queue on the A14 about a mile from the A605 turn off. We learned later that a lorry fire had closed the A14 along our intended route. Cleverly, the sat-nav showed the jam and re-routed us through Peterborough!
The car performed well, and the average mpg rose and rose. By the time we got to L and B's at around 9.45, the average mpg was showing 39.9. An excellent figure given that we were stuck in a traffic jam for 30 minute or so.
We had a quick bite to eat and 'hit the sack' around 10.30.
